Barclay Talks Sport

I'm one of those people who loves the drama and sheer excitement of sport. Being an average player of many sports and a very poor one of many others, I love to watch people at, or near, the top of their game, demonstrate their skills. The thrill of victory, the disaster of defeat. Sport is live theatre at its very best where the outcome might be anticipated but is never certain. Except if you're watching muscle-bound prancers wandering around wrestling rings pretending a lot.

And almost as much, I love to talk and discuss sport in many of its forms and in all its myriad issues, from serious to downright silly. I have much to say and because I don't get down to the pub as often as I used to, this seems a good place to say it. Join in the debate. I don't pretend to be an expert but I do consider myself well-informed. That's because I actually go to see sport, or watch it live on TV, and don't just read the tabloids to form my opinion.

Enjoy what you read. That's the main thing. Because I'll be enjoying what I write.
